Halloween 5v5 Sign-Up

Charlotte Ultimate is again hosting the youth 5v5 tournament the Saturday before Halloween.  We plan to send as many teams as we have players.  Sign-up below!

We are working through a field site for the fall and will have more information when that is complete.  Hopefully soon!

Youth Summer League

Charlotte Ultimate runs a youth summer league each year.  League is on Thursdays from 6-8pm starting in early June and running through early August.  There are two divisions: U16 and U19.  Each player will be put on a team with a few coaches for the season.  A number of Myers Park players participated last year and had a blast.  If you have a USAU membership, make sure to use the code "YouthUSAU" at checkout.

Latin 5v5 Sign Up

Charlotte Latin hosts a youth 5v5 tournament each spring.  This year's edition is on May 21st.  Games will be played in the morning and end by 1pm.  Cost is FREE.  Please complete the embedded form about whether or not you wish to play.

Cost

Each player should bring $10, cash or check made out to Charlotte Ultimate. 

Time

We are asking all players to get there at 8:45am Saturday morning.  The first game is at 9:30am.  The last game will be finished by 1:30pm.

Location

The games will played at Ramblewood Soccer Complex.  We are on soccer fields 9 and 10, which are immediately to the left when you drive in.

What to bring

You can find some helpful info here.  Please make sure to bring cleats, a white and dark (pref green) shirt or jersey, and water.  No food is provided, so bring any snacks you may want.

We should get the schedule within the next day or so.  Expect to play 3 or 4 games between 9:30am-1:30pm.

A Team Game Location Change

Tomorrow's A Team game vs AK has been moved to STAX starting at 6:30pm.  Please be there by 6pm to warm up.

April Tournament Signup

There are two weekend tournament opportunities coming up. Please let us know which you are able to make!

The first is a 5v5 round robin on Saturday April 23rd at Ramblewood Soccer Complex. There will be 3-4 one hour games from 9am-2pm. The cost will be about $10 per player.

The second is the NC State tournament Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st in Greensboro. We are hoping to bring two teams to this event. The A team will play both days and the B team will just play on Saturday. Both teams will drive up Saturday morning, the A team will likely stay overnight and drive back after games on Sunday. The B team will drive back Saturday. Please note that these teams may not be the same as those in during the spring season. The cost will be determined based on the number of kids.

This Week's Schedule

This week's schedule is a bit unusual, so thought it would be helpful to clarify.

Tuesday (3/22): Practice from 6-8pm at the Rugby Athletic Center/STAX.  This is for both A and B teams.

Thursday (3/24): Both A and B teams have games at 6pm at Ramblewood Soccer Complex.  The games start at 6pm, but we are asking all players be there by 5:30 (or earlier!) to warm up.  The A team is playing Cuthberston on field 4a and the B team is playing Invest Collegiate on field 4b.

First Games and Practice Time Update

The Charlotte Ultimate High School Spring leagues starts this week. 

A Team
The A team has a game tomorrow (3/17) against Weddington at the Rugby Athletic Center.  Please arrive by 5:45 to warm up.  The game will be over between 7-8pm.

B Team
The team the B Team was scheduled to play (Bailey) dropped from the league.  The B team will instead have practice at Sedgefield MS from 6:30pm until dark.

Practice Update
Future practices at Sedgefield MS will start at 6:30pm, not 6.  We will practice until 8:30 or dark, whichever is first.  The practice schedule for the next few weeks is:

3/24 6pm Ramblewood (games for all teams)
3/29 Spring Break, Sedgefield is available for anyone who wants to play around (no practice)

He4She Tournament Information

We are attending the He4She tournament this coming weekend at the new Charlotte Soccer Academy OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville.  If you are not familiar with tournaments, we generally have 3-4 four games on Saturday and 2-3 on Sunday.  Games run anywhere from 9am until 5pm on Saturday and 9am until 3pm on Sunday with some byes in the mix.  The schedule should be posted later this week.

We are splitting into two teams for this tournament: the A team and then the B team will combine with Charlotte Christian.

The tournament costs $20 per player for the entire weekend.  Bring a check made out to Charlotte Ultimate, cash, or paypal charlotteultimate@gmail.com.

These tournaments are sanctioned by USA Ultimate (the national governing body) and all participants are required to have a USAU membership.  It is pretty easy to get, just follow the instructions below.  Once you have a membership, let me know what email you registered with and I will add you to the team online.  Once I do that, you will need to confirm your participation on the team.  So the steps are: 1) get a membership, 2) sign the waiver, 3) send me the email used to sign up, and 4) confirm your participation on the team once I've added you.

Inclement Weather Policy Reminder

With the potential for some rain tonight, I want to remind everyone of - or mention for the first time - the inclement weather policy.  We can play in all weather conditions unless there is lightning or the field site closes. 

Spring Registration

Spring is upon us which means time for the spring ultimate season!  Practices will commence March 1st and we will have practice or a game every Tuesday and Thursday until May 19th.  Games start March 17 and are every Thursday until the end of the year (May 19).

There will be an informational meeting Monday February 29th at the Rugby Athletic Center at 6:30pm.  We will go over the season and any questions.
